This unique design was originally commissioned as a cufflink by Stewart Broad's Father , another great English cricketer Chris Broad. Simon has soldered the bat across the stumps and used solid sterling silver and 18 carat gold vermeil to draw out the contrast between the stumps and the bail. The effect is enhanced further with the blade of the bat 18 carat gold vermeil whereas the bat handle is silver.
